South Korea: Gangnam Style (강남스타일) – Psy
Every one in awhile a song with a dance comes along that captures the imagination of not only the originating country but a good chunk of the rest of the world. They usually feature a dance step that is easily learned and a song with a catchy beat. Well, this time the artist is South Korea’s Psy and his song Gangnam Style has gone international, starting a new dance craze. How international? Well, there’s an American talk show called “Ellen” starring Ellen Degeneres which recently featured Britney Spears along with Simon Cowell as guests and the topic of this dance came up. Britney had been wanting to learn it so Ellen brought someone to teach it to her, who ended up being Psy. Since this might end up coming to your local dance club, here’s how it’s done.
